student comments

Was the hiking/camping experience and living and journeying through the wilderness useful?

  • I found it extremely useful to get back to basics and think it was necessary to find my higher power.

  • Yes! I became independent and healthy.

  • Yes, in that it helped me get in touch with my higher power in the beauty of nature.

  • Being away from everyday distractions helped me learn more about my issues and self.

  • It helped me break away from the materialistic, superficial bull---- that I “valued” so much before and the hikes created a sense of emotional high/accomplishment and spirituality.

  • Very much- showed/demonstrated survival skills that applied also in the “real world” helped see our true limitations.

  • Yes, the only thing familiar to me was me, and I didn’t even know who I was. It forced me to find myself.

  • Gave me so much confidence and my health back.

  • It taught me responsibility and accountability.

  • It has given me, motivation, self confidence, discipline, and has showed me a healthier lifestyle.
