Kim Bradbury
MAPS House Manager
Kim’s work in therapeutic settings began in 1997. She and her sweetheart had recently married, united families, and settled in central Utah. Prior her move, Kim’s professional experience was almost exclusively in business. She had co-owned a tile store and had several positions working as a bookkeeper. If fact, her first position in a therapeutic setting was in the business office of Aspen Ranch, a sister program of Passages To Recovery. Her ability gain rapport and supervise students quickly became apparent, and she moved from her office job into a position working directly with students. It was clear Kim found her niche.
She stayed with the Aspen Ranch for over 9 years; in that time she worked in several different positions. She helped start new departments and parts of the program as it grew. She in 2007 she had the opportunity to expand her skills with a transfer to Passages To Recovery. In her time with Passages, she has helped grow the program and services at our MAPS House. She came on in a lead staff role and has since accepted the position as Supervisor at the Maps House. One of the main goals has set for herself and her staff is to make the MAPS House “…a place of significant meaning in the program, where clients know they are cared about when chaos erupts in their lives. While here, they should know they are accepted and loved.”
Part of Kim’s passion for her work stems from her personal work in recovery. She also has experience with family and friends in recovery and therefore understands many of the challenges students can experience. Professionally Kim continues to enhance her understanding by pursuing her Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor Certification.
Kim spends most of her free time with family… her grandchildren in particular. She often states with a big grin “Had I known how much fun they are I’d of had them first”. Her husband owns and runs a backcountry guiding company, so Kim still gets to be out as much and as often as she wants.
